Consumers Want Faster and Cheaper Grocery Delivery Services
Seventy percent of e-commerce consumers want faster and cheaper delivery, and do not plan to use grocery delivery services in the near future, according to a survey by AlixPartners LLP. Consumers want shorter delays for products that are of interest, with the average expected wait for a delivery 4.8 days, down from 5.5 days in 2012. The share of those who are willing to wait more than five days has declined to 60 percent from 74 percent in four years.
The growing role of shipping is influencing the purchasing behavior of consumers in a big way, as free shipping “greatly” impacts the ordering decisions of a growing number of customers, reported The Wall Street Journal
