Powered By Digital, Deloitte Predicts 4% Increase In Holiday Spending
Holiday retail sales are on track to grow up to 4% this year, down from 5.2% in the same period last year, as concerns about stagnant wages and global volatility make consumers a bit more cautious, even as the improved employment picture and low gas prices boost confidence, according to a Deloitte survey. Spending will be fueled by a jump in digital and mobile interactions, which are expected to influence 64% of in-store purchases, the survey found.
